Happy Canada Day to all our neighbors to the north.
Happy FĂȘte du Canada!
And for you old schoolers out there...Happy Dominion Day.
Today is Canada Day in...well...Canada.
On July 1, 1867 the British North America Act was enacted. This united Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and what was then referred to as the Province of Canada (now Ontario and Quebec) into a Federal Dominion (hence...Dominion Day).
The Act set up much of Canada's governmental structure and would later become a major part of the country's Constitution.
Hopefully you were taking notes.
There might be a quiz later.
